Schnelker Park is a downtown gathering place; Moser Park sits farther west on Main Street in a more wooded, low-lying setting.

For an established home near the center, compare roof and mechanical age, sewer-line condition, drainage, and the quality of prior renovations. For any property near a rail corridor, visit at more than one time and evaluate sound indoors and outdoors. Do not assume all New Haven homes share that exposure.

Try a downtown stop and a walk through Schnelker Park, then make a separate visit to Moser Park for its pond, trails, and disc golf. The city's event information is useful for seeing how a festival day differs from an ordinary weekday. If your route crosses the railway, include that crossing in the trip you test from the prospective home.

How do Schnelker Park and Moser Park differ?
Schnelker is a downtown park and gathering place. Moser, on West Main Street, offers a partly wooded setting with a pond, trails, and disc golf. Visiting both is a useful way to compare a downtown outing with a longer outdoor stop.
Why include the railroad when trying a New Haven commute?
Railroads helped shape New Haven, and the city still interprets that history at the Broadway tracks. If the route from a particular home crosses the line, drive that route at the times you expect to travel and consider an alternate crossing; this is not a claim about delay frequency.
