The homes to look for
For a subdivision home, read association documents for pond care, trail ownership, architectural review, and planned charges. Inspect grading and drainage as carefully as interior finishes. If considering an outlying parcel, establish the actual water, sewer or septic service and driveway maintenance arrangements rather than assuming subdivision-style services.

Try the route to Indian Trails Park for its paths, wooded trail, fields, and pickleball courts. Van Hoozen provides a separate park stop nearby. The Aboite trail system connects with the Towpath network, but the subdivision entrance and nearest crossing determine whether that connection becomes part of an everyday routine.
Things to consider
A larger lot and proximity to parks may suit your routine, but neither guarantees a direct walk to errands. The route from the subdivision entrance to Aboite Center or West Jefferson deserves a separate trial.
